Fed stirs bull stampede



Mar 18 - The S&P 500 had its best day since October 2002 after a hefty rate cut from the Federal Reserve and better-than-expected results from Goldman Sachs reassured investors.The Dow skyrocketed 420 points, or 3.5 percent, to 12,392. The S&P 500 surged 54 points, a gain of 4.2 percent, to 1,330. The Nasdaq jumped 91 points, or 4.2 percent, to 2,268. Crude oil jumped sharply to settle at $109.42.
