Interest Rates for Dummies

Let’s talk a little bit about short term interest rates in a layman’s language.

The US Federal Reserve adjusts the short term interest rates according to market conditions. The most *popular* of these rates is the Federal Funds Rate - that’s the one you usually hear about on websites, TVs, and newspapers.

This rate determines the interest that a bank pays in order to borrow money from another bank.
