Stocks pull plug on 2-day rally




Jan. 25 - U.S. stocks fell on Friday as enthusiasm about avoiding a US recession began to wane. Financial stocks were on the front end of sagging stocks.
The Dow dropped 171.44 points, closing at 12,207.17.
The S&P 500 shed 21.46 points, closing at 1,330.61.
The Nasdaq fell 34.72 points, finishing at 2,326.20.
