Tech optimism fuels stock rally

The tech-heavy Nasdaq jumped more than 1 percent ahead of better-than-expected results from Apple and Amazon.The Dow gained 42 points to 12,763. The S&P 500 rose 3 points to 1,379. The Nasdaq gained 28 points to 2,405. Crude oil prices rose to $118.30.
